Asthore the Adventurer
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
About the game
Asthore the Adventurer was inspired by the mythic Avventura 1. La taverna delle avventure, a text adventure game issued in 1984 for Commodore 64.
Written and coded by Alessandro Castellari (1949-1998), and cloned a few months later as Conan, the game became soon a real must-have all around Italy, being the first (and, at the time, also the only) computer RPG playable entirely in Italian.
40 years later, Studio Gombo wanted to pay a tribute to Castellari's work, by bringing to an international audience of players a mint new game inspired by his little jewel.
The story
You are about to embark on an extraordinary series of adventures inspired by heroic and mythical tales.
In a world populated by fabulous and magical characters, you are a brave adventurer who can count only on your human abilities... and a bit of luck.
During your journey you may grow stronger, increasing your skills and making yourself an unstoppable hero!
However, beware: they may also decrease, and if your energy falls below zero, then you will meet your demise.
So, be confident, but don't think you are invincible; the forces of darkness are lurking, including vampires, werewolves, and other terrifying foes.
Will you rise above them all?
Your fate and the fate of these lands are in your hands...
